time for an UPDATE!

Geesh I am a slacker!! Well... not really. Just been WAY too busy to even think of blogging. So here is the short and sweet of it:

1. We bought a HOUSE!! (YIPPY!)
2. We are pregnant again! Due July 25th.
3. Owen is growing up WAY too fast and may be the funniest kid around.
So instead of boring you with a ton of writing are some fun photos of what we have been up to! I plan on posting lots more about our many projects here at Strawn Farms 2.0 :) Also lots of "how to" posts about the things we have done for those of you who have been asking! (I didn't forget about all of you, I promise!)

the new house! :) BEFORE the new ceilings

there was ZERO insulation in the ceiling because they are vaulted, so we filled the existing beans with insulation and re Tough and Grooved (aka boards that lock together) over it! LOTS and LOTS of work, but SO worth it!

I wrote a little something on the back of the first board we put up. :) Staining all the boards SUCKED. I basically walked back and forth bent over with a little roller and a million buckets of stains and rolled each on with stain individually. They turned out BEAUTIFUL, but my back hated me for days!

AFTER the new ceilings were done! I LOVE them!

Last year on August 14th we got to meet our son, Owen. He is the most amazing boy that ever was. He is sweet and funny and is such a joy to be around. What a fun year it has been! :)

*you may want to get a tissue...I definitly needed one...

I know it's a long video, but what did you expect? I'm a photographer. I have about a million pictures of this cute kid!! :) You are lucky I edited it down! It WAS 20 minutes :)

wow! Time flys! I cannot believe Owen is almost one!! What a big kid!! :) He wants to walk so bad, but just can't seem to find his balance. He starts running though as soon as he has ahold of your hands!
We took Owen on his first trip to the beach (i know, we are totally lame parents for not taking him sooner!!) He loved it! He even made a new friend, Mr. Sandcrab :)

Owen LOVES water. Whenever we are outside playing he always head straight for the pool. He often screams with excitement when he can see the pool. Even if it is cold he still want to be in the water. So, since it has been hot this week we have been in the pool almost everyday! :) Owen is going to be one tan baby! He loves jumping around in the water with his daddy, and LOVES to SPLASH! You can even splash him and he thinks it is funny!! He is not a big fan of going under the water, but is getting better. YAY FOR SUMMER!!

Owen is a busy little boy! He is crawling all over the place (well more like inch worming all over the place). He is SO curious about everything! :) He LOVES turning off the light when we leave a room, and absolutly LOVES bathtime!!! He is a HILLARIOUS little boy. Always laughing and smiling. What a blessing!!

I know, I know....all parents say this. They have to. But seriously folks?! HE IS ADORABLE!! Just look at him, I mean SERIOUSLY! I know you want to interupt me and tell me all about your kids and how cute they are blah...blah..blah. But just stop, cause your wrong and you know it. :) I mean look at this round ball of cuteness! Don't you want to just eat him up? Just admit it...you'll feel alot better once you stop fooling yourself and admit that Owen is the cutest kids you have ever seen. :)

Just admit it. He's ADORABLE! Feel free to tell your kids that they are the cutest...but just know in your heart that Owen is the winner! :)

....and CHUNKY....
Owen currently weights TWENTY POUNDS!! What a big guy!! He is growing up so fast!! We can't beleive he is already 6 months!! WOW! That was FAST!! He is always making us smile and laugh. Every morning he squeels with excitement when we come in to get him out of his crib. What joy he is!!! When he is older he will probably be upset about this first picture, but who cares! That is a SERIOUSLY CUTE BOOTY!!! :)

I have been thinking about how just one year ago we found out about our little miracle. It seems like so long ago now that I was so frustraed with not being able to have a baby, praying with tears in my eyes that the Lord would hear my cry and answer me. He answered my prayers last December in his perfect timing.

We are so thankful for Owen and all the smiles he brings into our lives. He is such a joy to have around, always smiling and talking (though I have no idea what he saying). I cannot wait to see what this next year will bring. I am excited to watch Owen grow and learn new things. Thank you to all of you that helped prayed Owen into the cute baby he is today and Praise the Lord for His little miracle he gave us last Christmas :)

FUN TIMES UP NORTH

Owen got to travel up North and meet a lot of his family along the way! We spent the night in Corcoran at his Great Grandma's house where he played hide and seek with his cousins for hours! He loved it! Then we stopped in Modesto to visit his Nana and more cousins, then our final destination of Sacramento! Owen had a party where he got to meet a lot of new friends and family! What a GREAT time!!

Only 2 weeks to go!! (maybe less...we are wanting less....) Here is an update to the belly series that I have been taking since I was 6 weeks pregnant. Although...I have apparently numbered them wrong. It should be from 7 - 38 weeks since the most recent picture I took today. I just don't feel like going in and redoing all the words right now :)

Hope you enjoy seeing the belly get bigger! I think it is fun!

Happy Anniversary!

Last weekend was our 5 year wedding anniversary! :) What better way to celebrate then by getting our pictures taken again, only this time with our baby! We even brought the truck out, since it was used in our wedding pictures too! The pictures turned out AMAZING thanks to our dear friend Brendie. We had such a fun time!!

(except that it was already 100 degrees by 10am....)

Well I decided to take some pictures of me and the baby (well..the belly) for all of you that have not seen how BIG it is getting! Besides my belly being rather large, pregancy has been a breeze! I am still feeling great, and I am REALLY enjoying how much this baby moves! It's very fun to feeling him moving around in there (although a little creapy at times when he seems to be rubbing my uterus with his elbow).

We just can't wait to meet him and see what he looks like! (of coarse he will be cute and chunky, we already know that...)

We have narrowed down his name to either Fisher, Owen or Noah.....so we will see what happens.

I made some curtins for the closet in the babys room. The boring blue was no longer going to work, so I made some cute red and white polka dot ones! The yellow buttons are my favorite part!! :)

Yep that's right! It's a little BOY!!
We are so excited! We just need to decide on a name!! :)It will be __?__ Baylis Strawn (Baylis has been the middle passeddown for 4 generations now...can't break that tradition)

Thankfully we still have a while to decide. :)

In the ultrasound picture he is sucking his little thumb and has his other arm and hand behind his head. Just taking a little nap! :)

The Dr. said that everything looks great with both me and the baby! :)
I felt him move the other day, but haven't felt anything since. They said I should start feeling it a lot on about 2-3 more weeks. That will be just weird....cool, but weird.

The belly has arrived!

Where did this big belly come from? It seems like it just grew over night! :) The baby is a little bigger than an avocado now and is supposed to grow A LOT in the next month. My belly has also grown a lot in the last 2 weeks. Clothes are starting to fit rather tight now...or not fit all :) We got to the Dr. on March 26th for another Ultrasound and to see if we have a baby boy or girl! We can't WAIT! :) I haven't felt it move yet, but I should start feeling something in the next couple of weeks. (what a weird experience that will be....) That's all for now. Still feeling great, just a little stretched! :)

11 1/2 weeks and counting....

Right now I am 11 1/2 weeks. Which means this baby is already over 1.5 inches long! They have made all theirparts, and are nowworking on growing them all. This means I will also be growing lots in the next month.....I will post pictures of that later.

He (or she) is quite the little mover. I can't feel anything yet, but when the Dr. did the Ultrasound last week the baby was kicking his little feet like CRAZY! It looks like he will be an energetic one! (not too suprizing looking at his parents.....)

The picture above was taken at 10 weeks. His little hand is covering up his eye. It's crazy how much it looks just like a baby and is only 10 weeks! I am constantly amazed at God's work. :)

We are happy to announce that there will soon be another Strawn! :) Well..not too soon, not until August 26th (or anytime around there). But we can't WAIT! :)

We got to hear the heart beat today, and that was simply amazing! To realize that there is a little person growing inside should make you say nothing else but "PRAISE THE LORD!"

This really is a miracle.

We will keep you posted on updates as we get them! But so far I am feeling great!! Just needing a little extra sleep! :)

The party was so much fun! We can't wait intill next year. I painted a giant piece of wood so that all of our guests would have a fun place to tkae their picture!

We have suffered a great loss on the farm...

Today we mourn the death of dear chicken friend, Bater. She was found last night dead after falling in our swimming pool. She has no problem swimming, the water was just too cold and chickens don't do well when they are wet and cold. She was one of our favorite chickens, and would always greet us at the door when we came to feed them. Poor little Bater will be missed....it's a good thing my sweet husband bought me so many chickens to keep me company! I still have 11 more to play with....they just won't be playing outside without me anymore...

Slowly becoming haunted

The Strawn Haunted Mansion is slowly becoming..well...haunted...
We are turning our house into a spooky layer where ghouls and their little goblins will roam (and by roam I mean carve pumpkins and watch Nightmare Before Christmas on the wall in the backyard).

What will you come dressed as? Better decide soon! Only 32 days till all hallows eve!

Sorry to all of you that check my page for updates...July was a rather busy month! I shot a lot of weddings! So that means that all my time on the computer was for editing, not for blogging..... so below are a few of my favorites from 2 of the weddings (one is still to be edited)
Hope you enjoy them! I sure enjoyed shooting them!!

The first is Ian and Anita. They were the cutest couple you have ever met. They have a lot of fun being in love and had a great wedding!

Next are Ilene & Casey. They are also super fun because their whole Wedding party consisted of kids, mostly under the age of 7..... can we say CUTE!! The kids did a great job, and the wedding so much fun! :)

The Harvest is Plentiful

It's time to harvest!! :) We've got corn and peppers to eat! :) We also have tomatoes for anyone that wants them..I wish I liked tomatoes, but I don't.... so you can have them...

We also have lots of new baby grasshoppers that love to hang out on the Plumeria tree. They are so teeny tiny and pretty cute looking for being a bug!! However, if they start eating the Plumeria they will have to die, sorry baby grasshoppers...

We have a lot of things growing here at Strawn Farms! :)

Tomatoes, Corn, Peppers, and even baby chickens!! Hopefully this hot weather wont kill off all my veggies...stay tuned for exciting updates! Now that I am a stay at home wife I thought this would be a great way to keep everyone updated on what is going on down here in L.A on our "farm".
